Geoff is a highly experienced and qualified career practitioner, with over 25 years’ background in the Career
Development and Education sectors. His own career has included a range of experiences:
- Careers advisor and teacher in secondary schools
- Career counsellor / career consultant in universities and polytechnics
- Lecturer in Career Practice in the tertiary education sector
- Career practitioner in public and private sectors
- Self-employment in career practice, garden services, and creative pursuits
With an underpinning foundation in developmental career theory, Geoff’s professional philosophy has been supplemented by a range of other approaches, including person-centred, planned happenstance, and solution-focused theories. He believes in helping his clients to develop and manage their own careers, working in a practical way but never losing site of their dreams and aspirations.
Creativity has been a lifelong theme for Geoff, with interests in music, creative writing and woodturning. It has been useful in his career practice work too, he has found that Career Development benefits greatly from creativity and innovation.
